The Meeting

Kick-Off Meeting

Date: November 2018

Our Erasmus+ kick-off meeting for our next project about the construction and the dissemination of news in the media took place from the 19th until the 21st November.

The meeting marked the starting line for the cooperation between the French-German High School in Saarbrücken, Germany,  Virtain lukio High School in Virrat, Finland, the General Lyceum of Vrachneika in Greece and Centro Educativo Zola in Madrid, Spain.

The focus of the project « Headlines: More than Meets the Eye » is on introducing pupils to work in international teams and make them aware of their information surrounding.

They will be turned into reporters, visit media outlets, analyze and produce information items that will allow them to consider news in a new light.

Teachers benefit from the project as much as pupils as this meeting gave them the opportunity to learn about radio podcasting thanks to Mr Sofias know-how in that field.

Of course, as usual with Erasmus+ projects, pupils will visit their peers abroad, share their daily lives for a week, and also host them when it is their turn to receive them.

The ultimate goals of the project are also to reflect the European core values promoted by the Erasmus+ programme such as developing intercultural and environmental understanding, language skills, personal and social skills, and building long-lasting friendships abroad.

In a nutshell, promoting a European spirit and support democracy, values that need to be asserted more than ever today.
