Activity: Creating a Kahoot  game

Date: November 2018

The Greek ICT Teacher, Mr. Thomas Sofias, created a quiz (Kahoot game) using the online platform “Kahoot” in order to to summarize/evaluate the workshop "Create a podcast usingAudacity". The Kahoot game was played by the teachers participating in the workshop, in the computer lab, on Tuesday 20th November 2018.

What is a Kahoot game?

Kahoot is a free game-based learning platform that makes it fun to learn – any subject, in any language, on any device, for all ages! A Kahoot is a collection of questions on specific topics. Created by teachers, students, business-people and social users, they are asked in real-time, to an unlimited number of “players”, creating a social, fun and game-like learning environment. Create a fun learning game in minutes (they call these ‘kahoots’), made from a series of multiple choice questions. It is easy to add videos, images and diagrams to the questions to amplify engagement! Kahoots are best played in a group setting, like a classroom. Players answer on their own devices, while games are displayed on a shared screen to unite the lesson – creating a ‘campfire moment’ – encouraging players to look up. Social learning promotes discussion and pedagogical impact… whether players are in the same room or on the other side of the globe! For more details visit the official site of Kahoot.
